Windows 7 is supposed to be way better when dealing with touch screens and tablets. Have you tried it yet?

Not yet, I recently bought the shipping for a factory install disk since, for the first time, saw the blue screen of death. I was trying to do an msconfig modification so my computer would run faster.I also recently repartitioned hard drive to run debian linux. After I return it to factory settings, I will partition my HD to three partitions, one of which will be for windows 7. I have also heard that tablet support is good with 7 also.

You should try CCleaner. It also includes integrated msconfig functions for Startup, as well as cleaning registry and other good settings. I recommend Defraggler for defragging! Winking
