    God of War: Chains of Olympus - PSP Review

    Post by ThePreserver on 25th March 2008, 1:16 am

    This is a must have game for the Playstation Portable. The graphics in this game are simply amazing and true to the God of War experience in general. It's arguably one of the best looking titles out in the market! Good use of the PSP Slim's extra 32MB of RAM. Play with a PSP Slim and the Component Video Cable for maximum experience.

    Graphics = 9.5/10 (Only because it's not true HD and not anti-aliased)

    The audio in the game is simply fantastic and goes with the storyline. Pretty much the same you would expect from a God of War game. The main theme is remixed once or twice in there but it's nothing to fret about. To experience it to the fullest, you need earphones/headphones to hear its cinematic quality.

    Audio = 10/10

    The game utilizes the same formula that is found in previous GoW games, and even welcomes the return of the mini-games. One such mini-game features two naked co-ed females and you know the drill....God of War baby! Sure some may complain that it was too short, but what else would you expect from a 1.5GB UMD disc on a portable? Still delivers more than five hours of fun, even more if you play all the difficulty modes and opt to iron out all the secrets. Oh yeah, this game takes place before the events of God of War: Part One.

    Gameplay = 8/10 (Slight overuse of mini-games ; somewhat short but not that bad)

    The controls are pretty intuitive and aren't that hard to adapt to from its console counterparts.

    Controls = 7/10 (Only because the analog stick feels a bit flat)

    One more good reason to get a PSP for those of you who don't happen to own one yet. Winking Updates are coming in left and right adding new functionality, which makes it a plus. Not to mention other great games that have recently showed up due to the PSP Slim's new RAM update. Such improvements....

    Spoiler:
    By the way, a special edition red PSP with white Kratos engraved on the back will ship in June 2008 including the God of War PSP game, and a UMD of Superbad. All for $199.99.
